Overview
Unitrans is looking for experienced and professional Bus Drivers to join our team for permanent positions at our Mega Bus division in Secunda. The selected candidates will be responsible for safely transporting passengers over scheduled routes, ensuring that all trips are conducted on time and according to traffic regulations.
Responsibilities
-Operate buses along designated routes, adhering to scheduled services.
-Ensure the comfort and safety of passengers by controlling lighting, heating, and ventilation within the vehicle.
-Comply with traffic laws, including speed limits and road signs, to ensure the safe arrival of passengers.
-Regularly inspect buses for any malfunctions or deviations from standards, reporting issues to the supervisor.
-Maintain a positive and professional attitude towards passengers and customers at all times.
- Adhere to Unitrans and customer policies, including safety and operational procedures.
- Record all trip events, incidents, and accidents, reporting them promptly to the supervisor.
- Ensure the cleanliness and refueling of the vehicle before and after each trip.
- Complete daily logbooks accurately, recording trip details and hours worked.
- Participate in safety and training sessions as required by the company.
- Follow authorized routes and make stops only at company-approved locations.
- Safeguard the vehicle’s ignition key and ensure the proper use of seat belts for both the driver and passengers.
Requirements
- Education: Grade 12 / National Certificate.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Licenses: Valid Public Services Driver’s License (PrDP) and Driver’s License categories CE-G, CE-PG, and C-G.
- Knowledge of defensive and preventive driving techniques.
- Strict adherence to traffic laws and company policies to avoid accidents and infractions.
