Minimum Requirements:
- Literacy level equivalent to Grade 10 (both verbal and numerical)
- Valid Code EC driver’s license with PrDP (DGP)
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience operating ultra-heavy vehicles
- Age requirement: 25 years and above
- Availability to work weekends and public holidays
- Proficiency in defensive driving techniques
- Knowledge of vehicle components and emergency procedures
- Familiarity with vehicle inspections and fire extinguisher operation
- Ability to maximize vehicle cost-effectiveness and efficiency
- Understanding of vehicle loading techniques
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepare and operate ultra-heavy duty vehicles for trips
- Load, transport, and offload goods efficiently
- Manage necessary documentation and perform ancillary duties
- Follow instructions from supervisors diligently
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
- Maintain a safe driving record and clean criminal background
- Ensure vehicle, uniform, and personal protective equipment are well-kept
- Adhere to standard operating procedures and safety protocols
- Successfully complete medical evaluations, training modules, and induction processes
- Verify clean criminal record as per company standards
Additional Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with weight regulations outlined in the National Road Traffic Act
- Supervise or operate offloading equipment during the unloading process
- Secure the load before departure and handle tarpaulins as necessary
- Provide professional and efficient customer service
