Overview
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Ultra-heavy Motor Vehicle Driver to join our team in Gauteng for the distribution of goods to various clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transport of goods while maintaining high standards of safety and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

-Prepare and operate ultra-heavy-duty vehicles for trips.

-Load, transport, and offload goods as required.

-Manage necessary documentation and carry out additional related tasks.

-Follow all instructions provided by the supervisor, including working shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

-Maintain a safe driving record and adhere to traffic regulations.

-Ensure vehicles, uniforms, and personal protective equipment (PPE) are clean and well-maintained.

-Promote and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols.

  • Undergo and complete mandatory medical evaluations, training, and induction processes, including:
    • USCS training modules
    • Practical driving evaluations
    • Criminal record verification

-Conduct thorough vehicle inspections and ensure that all load security measures are in place, complying with the National Road Traffic Act.

-Operate or supervise the use of offloading equipment and ensure the safe handling of goods.

-Open and close tarpaulins, where necessary.

-Maintain professional and efficient interactions with customers.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

  • Grade 10 literacy level (verbal and numerical).
  • Valid Code EC driver’s license with PrDP (DGP).
  • At least 3 years of experience operating ultra-heavy vehicles.
  • Must be 25 years of age or older.
  • Willingness to work weekends, public holidays, and shifts.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Defensive driving techniques.
  • Familiarity with vehicle components and emergency reporting procedures.
  • Ability to perform vehicle inspections and operate a fire extinguisher.
  • Knowledge of vehicle loading techniques and maximizing vehicle cost-effectiveness.
