Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced ultra-heavy motor vehicle driver to join our Bulk Service Inland division. The successful candidate will be responsible for distributing goods to various clients, ensuring timely and safe deliveries. This is a permanent position based in Vereeniging, Gauteng.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 10 literacy level (both verbal and numerical proficiency).
  • Valid Code EC driver’s license with a Professional Driving Permit (PrDP – DGP).
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience driving ultra-heavy vehicles.
  • Must be 25 years of age or older.
  • Willingness to work weekends and public holidays.
  • Proficiency in defensive driving techniques.
  • Knowledge of vehicle components and their functions.
  • Ability to inspect vehicles, handle emergencies, and operate a fire extinguisher.
  • Experience in maximizing vehicle efficiency and loading techniques.
  • Prior experience with dry bulk tankers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and operate ultra-heavy-duty vehicles for trips.
  • Load, transport, and offload goods while ensuring the safety of the load.
  • Complete all required documentation and perform ancillary duties as instructed.
  • Follow instructions from supervisors and be prepared to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Maintain a safe driving record and ensure compliance with all relevant safety procedures.
  • Keep vehicles, uniforms, and personal protective equipment (PPE) in good condition.
  • Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols.
  • Undergo and complete medical evaluations, USCS training modules, induction processes, and practical driving assessments.
  • Verify and maintain a clean criminal record.
  • Ensure compliance with the National Road Traffic Act regarding vehicle loading and operation.
  • Professionally interact with clients and oversee or manage the offloading process, including opening and closing tarpaulins when necessary.
