Job Title: Code 10 Driver: Dry Cleaning

Overview:
Grain Field Chickens, a subsidiary of VKB Agriculture (Pty) Ltd, is looking for a responsible and self-motivated Code 10 Driver to carry out dry-cleaning duties at various chicken farms. This permanent position offers an opportunity to work independently in the agricultural sector while providing an essential service within the broiler industry.
Responsibilities:
-Travel daily to multiple farms to perform dry-cleaning of chicken houses.
-Follow the laid-down Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for dry-cleaning, from start to finish.
-Conduct dry-cleaning after all chickens have been removed from the houses.
-Complete the required pre-dry-cleaning checklist to ensure the equipment is ready for use according to SOP.
-Secure the chicken house after dry-cleaning to prevent unauthorized access.
-Refuel the dry-cleaning machine with diesel at the end of each shift to prepare for the next day.
-Perform basic mechanical repairs on equipment when necessary.
-Carry out any additional duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
-Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 equivalent.
-Valid Code 10 driver’s license with PDP (Professional Driving Permit).
-Experience in dry-cleaning chicken houses is essential.
-Knowledge of the layout and operation of chicken houses.
-Basic mechanical skills are required.
-Ability to communicate effectively in Afrikaans, as the role involves engaging with GFC contract growers on the farms.
-Strong client interaction skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
-Willingness to work overtime, including weekends (Saturdays and Sundays).

-Ability to analyze, record, and report information accurately.
