Overview

Weir Minerals is seeking a skilled Driver for our Kathu branch. This role involves managing the ordering, receiving, preparing, and delivery of stock to both internal and external customers. The ideal candidate will have experience in warehousing, logistics, and stock control, with a commitment to maintaining high safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

-Uphold Weir’s zero harm safety culture by adhering to all Safety Health Environment (SHE) protocols and housekeeping requirements both at the branch and customer sites.

-Comply with the Duty of Care Policy at all times.

-Load received stock and spares into the system.

-Manage the control of incoming and outgoing stock.

  • Pick, bin, and load customer orders, ensuring accurate and timely delivery.
  • Pack and crate stock as needed for customer orders.
  • Conduct general warehouse stock control, including inspections for potential defects.
  • Load and unload trucks, ensuring correct identification of Weir parts.
  • Perform cycle counts and maintain accurate stock records.
  • Vehicle and Stores Management:
    • Maintain Weir delivery vehicles and ensure they are operated with due diligence.
    • Manage stores and stock, including all related administrative duties.
    • Liaise with administrative and service center staff to ensure smooth operations.
    • Be available for standby and overtime work as required.

Requirements

  • Educational Background:
    • Matric (Grade 12) certificate or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • A relevant tertiary certificate in warehousing, logistics, or stock control is advantageous.
  • Experience:
    • 2-3 years of experience in warehousing, logistics, or stock control.
  • Licences:
    • Valid C1 driver’s license and Professional Driver’s Permit (PrDP).
    • Valid forklift and overhead crane licenses.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP software (e.g., SAP, Infor LN).
    • Clear verbal and written communication.
    • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to work accurately and follow instructions.
