Remuneration:
- Institution Phase: R4500 per month (stipend)
- Probation Phase (Post Training): R238,629 per annum (salary notch)
Overview:
The South African Police Service (SAPS) invites young, energetic, and physically fit individuals in the Western Cape to apply for the 2025/2026 Police Trainee Programme. Successful candidates will undergo a 21-month Basic Police Development Learning Programme and may be permanently enlisted as Constables after successful completion.
Minimum Requirements:
-South African citizen aged between 18 and 35
-Grade 12 / Matric qualification
-No criminal record or pending cases
-Fit for physical and psychological assessments
-No visible tattoos while in uniform
-Not previously declared unfit to possess a firearm
-Willingness to serve anywhere in South Africa
-Must not have participated in a previous SAPS trainee programme

- Prevent, combat, and investigate crime
- Maintain public order
- Protect and secure inhabitants and property
- Uphold and enforce the law
Preference Will Be Given To:
- Applicants with a valid light motor vehicle driver’s license
- Applicants with tertiary qualifications (NQF 6 or higher) in Policing, Law, Criminology, or Forensics
