Overview

Mr Price Cellular and Power Fashion are hiring Assistant Store Managers across multiple regions. The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in driving sales, managing daily store operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, and maintaining operational standards. The role requires strong leadership capability, retail experience, and the ability to meet performance targets in a fast-paced retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

Stock Management
โ€“ Ensure accurate receiving, unpacking, merchandising and replenishment of stock.
โ€“ Conduct stock counts and implement stock loss action plans.
โ€“ Maintain stockroom housekeeping and organisation.
โ€“ Authorise write-offs, breakages, recalls and cellular-related returns.

Sales Growth & Profitability
โ€“ Analyse store sales, profitability and KPIs to recommend action plans.
โ€“ Monitor product performance and provide feedback to head office.
โ€“ Identify opportunities to grow sales through promotions, in-store marketing and competitor analysis.
โ€“ Drive performance in credit, mobile, insurance and cellular categories.

Risk Management
โ€“ Assist with compliance checks, audits, POS reports, H&S checks and security controls.
โ€“ Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures and retail standards.

Customer Experience
โ€“ Implement customer experience processes and visual merchandising guidelines.
โ€“ Manage pricing, markdowns, promotions and general store presentation.
โ€“ Maintain a high standard of customer service and resolve customer queries.

Leadership & Development
โ€“ Lead, manage and motivate store staff to achieve KPIs.
โ€“ Identify training and development needs and support talent growth.
โ€“ Assist with recruitment, performance management and staff administration.


Minimum Requirements

โ€“ Grade 12 / NQF Level 4 qualification.
โ€“ 3 years retail experience (management experience advantageous).
โ€“ Strong understanding of sales, customer service and retail operations.
โ€“ Competent in budgeting and stock management processes.
โ€“ Good communication and computer literacy skills.
โ€“ Knowledge of cellular, mobile, new accounts and insurance products.
