Job Overview

The Sales Assistant is responsible for delivering an exceptional customer experience while driving sales performance. This includes engaging customers using effective selling techniques, maintaining store standards, processing transactions accurately, and supporting loss-prevention controls. The role plays a key part in creating a welcoming, inspiring retail environment that reflects the brandโ€™s values.


Key Responsibilities

  • Exceed customer expectations through effective customer selling techniques
  • Meet individual sales targets consistently
  • Identify opportunities to maximise sales and increase store turnover
  • Adhere strictly to stock loss prevention and control procedures
  • Maintain housekeeping and visual merchandising standards
  • Process all customer transactions accurately (cash, cards, vouchers, loyalty cards)
  • Ensure all outgoing stock is scanned and paid for
  • Build professional relationships with customers through friendly, helpful service
  • Handle customer queries, compliments, and complaints and escalate where required

Essential:

  • Matric or equivalent qualification
  • Up to 6 months retail experience

Advantageous:

  • 1 year retail experience
  • Microsoft computer proficiency
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Knowledge of current clothing, outdoor, or lifestyle trends (brand-specific)

Special Conditions of Employment

  • Clear criminal and credit record
  • Willing and able to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays
  • South African citizen
