Overview

The Limpopo Department of Education invites applications for 53 EPWP Casual Labourer posts on a 12-month contract under the Extended Public Works Programme (EPWP).

The purpose of the programme is to provide temporary work opportunities to unemployed community members, particularly those from poor households and targeted groups. Successful candidates will support general operational and maintenance activities within the Department and report directly to designated Supervisors for daily tasks, monitoring, and attendance management.

Key Responsibilities

-Perform general manual labour duties as assigned by supervisors

-Support operational activities within the Department or District offices

-Maintain attendance registers and comply with reporting requirements

-Carry out cleaning, maintenance, or general support tasks where required

-Follow work-related instructions and adhere to safety guidelines

-Assist with programme-related activities in line with EPWP objectives


Requirements

  • Must be unemployed
  • Must reside within the local municipality where the Education District is located (preference will be given to local residents)
  • Applicants from nearby municipalities may be considered if required skills are not available locally (not exceeding 20%)
  • People from poor households are encouraged to apply
  • People with disabilities are encouraged to apply
  • Applicants receiving social grants (including disability grants) are eligible
