Overview
A bakery production facility in Aeroton is currently recruiting a General Worker / Cleaner to support maintenance and production operations within a busy factory environment.
This role is suitable for candidates with factory or production experience who are comfortable working with heavy equipment, maintenance support tasks, and cleaning industrial machinery. The successful candidate will assist with divider cleaning, lubrication, inspections, and general maintenance support to ensure smooth plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
– Clean divider equipment according to supplier guidelines and safety standards.
– Lubricate divider machinery and ensure oiling ports are functioning correctly.
– Conduct routine inspections and daily equipment checks.
– Report equipment damages or faults to the Shift Foreman.
– Assist with divider changeovers and setup processes.
– Support divider standard deviation recordings of dough pieces.
– Perform weekly and monthly lubrication of divider equipment.
– Assist artisans and maintenance teams within the make-up area.
– Work safely around heavy industrial equipment and machinery.
– Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping within the production area.
Requirements & Skills
-Matric / Grade 12 certificate.
-Minimum 1 year experience in a production or factory environment.
-Basic knowledge of mechanical or engineering processes.
-Basic welding, grinding, or painting experience will be advantageous.
-Understanding of food safety and health & safety practices.
-Good communication and teamwork skills.
-Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
-Ability to work under pressure in a hot and noisy factory environment.
-Willingness to work overtime, weekends, public holidays, and night shifts according to the shift roster.
