Overview

Food Lover’s Market is currently recruiting a Grocery Merchandiser for its Worcester store in the Western Cape.

This opportunity is suitable for energetic and detail-oriented candidates who enjoy retail merchandising, stock presentation, and customer interaction. The successful candidate will assist with shelf merchandising, stock control, product rotation, promotional displays, and maintaining attractive grocery displays throughout the store.

Key Responsibilities

– Receive, unpack, and merchandise stock on shelves.
– Ensure shelves are fully stocked, clean, and visually appealing.
– Check product quality and remove damaged or expired products.
– Monitor stock levels and report shortages where necessary.
– Create promotional and seasonal product displays.
– Assist with stock takes and inventory control.
– Follow merchandising plans and store display standards.
– Use creative merchandising techniques to attract customers.
– Assist customers with product enquiries and complaints professionally.
– Maintain cleanliness and organisation of stockrooms and merchandising areas.
– Work closely with sales and marketing teams to support promotions.
– Ensure proper stock rotation and product freshness at all times.

Requirements & Skills

-Matric / Grade 12 certificate.
-Previous experience as a Merchandiser, General Worker, or similar retail role.
-Good customer service and communication skills.
-Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
-Good organisational and stock control skills.
-Strong attention to detail and product presentation.
-Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
-Clear criminal record.
-Must reside within 25km of Worcester.
