Overview

Cape Union Mart Group (Cape Union Mart, Old Khaki and Poetry) is hiring festive season sales assistants across South Africa (and Gaborone, Botswana). You’ll help customers, drive sales, maintain visual standards and support smooth store operations during peak trade. No experience is required—retail exposure is an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

-Exceed customer expectations using effective selling techniques; act as a friendly brand ambassador.

-Meet individual/store targets; maximise sales by identifying upsell/cross-sell opportunities.

-Maintain housekeeping and visual merchandising standards that optimise sales.

-Adhere to stock-loss controls and basic store SOPs (cash handling where applicable).

-Support replenishment, ticketing, fitting room and stockroom tasks.

-Create an inspiring, helpful environment for customers and teammates.

Requirements & Skills

–Education: Matric/Grade 12 preferred (not mandatory).

–Experience: No experience required (entry level); retail experience is advantageous.

–Core: Customer-service focus, clear communication (English), friendly and engaging.

–Attributes: Honest, accountable, adaptable, takes ownership, good time management.

–Compliance: Clear criminal record; able to work retail hours (weekends/holidays/late trade).

–Botswana role: Valid right to work in Botswana (for Gaborone listing).
