Overview:

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is looking for experienced Cashiers to support customer service at the point of sale and ensure a professional and world-class shopping experience across various store locations nationwide. This position is ideal for individuals who are detail-oriented, customer-focused, and capable of operating within a fast-paced retail environment.


Key Responsibilities:

-Adhere to Dis-Chemโ€™s customer service policies and SOPs

-Build and maintain professional relationships with customers

-Handle customer complaints and compliments in accordance with procedures

-Stay informed about current sales, promotions, and in-store risks

-Operate the till accurately and manage cash flow responsibly

-Authorise and process transactions including refunds and exchanges

-Process payments via cash, cards, loyalty programmes, and other accepted methods

-Maintain till security and confidentiality of access codes

-Ensure that all items and scripts are scanned and paid for before leaving the store

-Maintain secure handling and drop safe placement of cash

-Monitor and report any suspicious activity to store management

-Address customer queries regarding merchandise and services

-Follow Dis-Chemโ€™s communication and 5-star service standards

-Uphold all company security protocols and procedures


Requirements:

  • Education: Grade 12 / Matric
  • Experience: Minimum of 6 months in cashier/till operations
  • Skills:
    • Computer literate (MS Office)
    • Strong numerical and communication skills
    • Fluent in English (verbal and written)
    • Customer service orientation
  • Work Conditions:
    • Willing and able to work retail hours
    • Must have reliable transport and/or live near store locations
    • Must be a South African citizen
    • Clear criminal and credit record
