Overview:

Pepkor Lifestyle is seeking a reliable and experienced Line Haul Driver to join the Skooch Jetpark team in Boksburg. This role is vital for ensuring the efficient and safe transport of goods between distribution centers and hubs. The ideal candidate will be an experienced Code 14 driver with a valid Professional Driving Permit (PdP) and a solid track record in long-haul or regional driving.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate heavy-duty vehicles to transport goods between designated locations.
  • Ensure on-time pickups and deliveries in line with company and legal standards.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness.
  • Properly secure loads to prevent damage or shifting during transit.
  • Accurately log working hours, mileage, and cargo details using electronic logging devices (ELDs).
  • Adhere strictly to road safety rules and company protocols.
  • Report mechanical issues, delays, or incidents promptly to dispatch.
  • Conduct minor vehicle maintenance or troubleshooting as needed.
  • Maintain high levels of customer service and handle freight according to company procedures.

Requirements:

  • Valid Code 14 Driverโ€™s License with a valid PdP.
  • Minimum 3 years of long-haul or regional driving experience.
  • Clean driving record with no major traffic violations.
  • Familiarity with GPS navigation and electronic logging devices.
  • Good communication and time management skills.
  • Physically capable of lifting and securing freight.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience driving with trailers.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge for truck troubleshooting.
  • Prior experience in logistics or freight transport environments.

Work Environment & Schedule:

  • Long-distance driving with potential overnight stays.
  • Shifts may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Exposure to varying weather and road conditions.
