Job Opportunity
Dis-Chem Pharmaciesโ Gqeberha Distribution Centre is looking for Code 08 Drivers to join the logistics team. The role focuses on ensuring accurate, timely, and safe delivery of goods to stores while upholding operational excellence and customer service.
Minimum Requirements
Essential:
-Grade 12 / Senior Certificate (with English & Mathematics)
–Valid Code 08 Driverโs Licence + PDP
-At least 2 yearsโ driving experience in a Distribution, Logistics, or Supply Chain environment
Key Responsibilities
-Deliver goods to the correct store/customer accurately and on time
-Use the shortest and most efficient routes for deliveries
-Ensure proper and safe loading and off-loading of goods
-Verify and offload Transport Units (TUs) according to the truck manifest
-Handle store returns, inter-branch transfers, and collections correctly
-Return to the warehouse immediately after delivery to maximise fleet use
-Record and return empty pallets, totes, cardboard, and plastic
-Ensure correct seal numbers as per the truck manifest
-Manage fuel usage responsibly using the allocated fuel card
-Keep the delivery vehicle clean, safe, and roadworthy
-Conduct daily and weekly vehicle inspections and report defects
-Communicate professionally with store staff and dispatch teams

Special Conditions of Employment
- Work shifts as required: day, night, weekends, holidays, overtime
- Flexible to rotate within departments when necessary
- Must pass MIE checks (criminal & credit)
- Physically fit (lifting, carrying, climbing, bending, standing)
- South African Citizen
- Certificate of competence to operate a tail lift
