Overview:

Premium Resources Botswana is hiring a seasoned Diamond Drill Supervisor to manage and mentor underground diamond drill teams. This role is critical to maintaining safe drilling operations and achieving performance targets. The successful candidate will bring strong leadership, technical drilling expertise, and a commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards.


Key Responsibilities:

-Supervise and manage diamond drill operators and offsiders in underground operations.

-Oversee and ensure safe, efficient operation of electric/hydraulic diamond drill rigs.

-Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies.

-Interpret and implement drill plans accurately and provide detailed shift production reports.

-Manage drill consumables and ensure timely supply and usage.

-Troubleshoot breakdowns, manage rig setup and relocations efficiently.

-Maintain accurate records of meterages drilled, issues encountered, and daily operations.

-Train and mentor team members to ensure skill development and safety awareness.

-Support senior management with operations-related tasks as required.


    Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

    -BGCSE (or equivalent) and a valid Diamond Drill Operator certificate/license.

    -Minimum of 10 yearsโ€™ work experience in diamond drilling (underground experience preferred).

    -Proven expertise in hard rock drilling (e.g. Archean Gneiss formations) using BQ-sized core, holes up to 1200m.

    -Strong experience in electric/hydraulic diamond drill rig operation and troubleshooting.

    -Experience rebuilding Boyles B20 heads, managing downhole pumps, and welding is an advantage.


    Key Competencies:

    -Strong leadership and communication skills (verbal and written).

    -Fluent in English (verbal and written).

    -Proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to lead underground crews.

    -High standards for safety, reporting, and technical performance.

    -Demonstrates PNR values and core operational competencies.
