Overview
Sekhukhune District Municipality invites qualified and dedicated individuals to apply for the position of Firefighter (x25 posts). This opportunity is aimed at enhancing fire safety and emergency response services within the district. Key Responsibilities
-Execute firefighting and emergency response tasks under supervision
-Identify fire safety risks and implement prevention measures
-Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), fire safety codes, and applicable bylaws
-Maintain high-quality service tailored to the needs of the communities served
-Present a professional image and support strategies that build community-focused services
Minimum Requirements
-Grade 12 or higher qualification
-Firefighter I course
-Hazmat Awareness certification
-First Aid Level 3
-Code EB Driverโs License
-Physically and mentally fit
-Medical clearance according to NFPA 1582 standards
-No criminal record
Experience
- Minimum of 1 year operational firefighting experience
Skills and Knowledge
- Understanding of firefighting procedures and policies
- Ability to follow supervision in executing emergency operations
- Knowledge of fire safety codes and the ability to assess risk
- Strong teamwork, problem-solving, and community service orientation
Employment Considerations
- Signing of an employment contract and performance agreement is required
