Overview
Incanda Woodwork, part of the Wheco Group, is currently recruiting a General Assistant to support daily operations within its Woodwork Department in Paarl.
This opportunity is ideal for hardworking individuals who enjoy practical work in a manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will assist with production support, stock movement, waste management, housekeeping, and general operational duties while ensuring safety and quality standards are maintained.
Key Responsibilities
– Assist with woodwork waste management and material distribution.
– Support machine shop and production operations as instructed by supervisors.
– Move stock, materials, furniture, and equipment safely within the facility.
– Load and off-load stock and production materials when required.
– Assist production teams with daily operational tasks.
– Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping in work areas.
– Follow workplace safety procedures and operational standards.
– Report damaged equipment, safety risks, or quality concerns to management.
– Perform general ad hoc duties assigned by the line manager.
Requirements & Skills
-Grade 12 / Matric certificate.
-Basic understanding of workplace health and safety procedures.
-Previous experience in furniture manufacturing, woodwork, production, or similar environments will be advantageous.
-Physically fit and able to perform manual labour tasks.
-Good communication and teamwork skills.
-Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision.
-Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
-Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
-Willingness to learn and assist where needed.
-Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
-Willingness to work overtime and weekends when required.
