Overview

The City of Tshwane invites applications for the position of General Worker based at the Bosman Street Workshop in Pretoria Central. This role is suited to individuals who are physically fit, reliable, and capable of performing routine general work duties within a workshop environment.

The successful candidate will support daily workshop operations by maintaining cleanliness, adhering to occupational health and safety standards, and executing instructions as directed by supervisors.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping workshop floors
  • Clean drains, pits, work levels, and workshop machinery
  • Clean and maintain tools allocated to artisans
  • Report lost, damaged, or defective tools to the supervisor
  • Follow instructions received from supervisors at all times
  • Adhere strictly to the Occupational Health and Safety Act, 1993 (Act 85 of 1993)
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly workshop environment

Requirements & Skills

  • Basic literacy
  • Ability to execute physical duties
  • Physical fitness and good health, including the ability to lift, carry, and move heavy objects
  • Relevant experience in cleaning services within a workshop environment will be an added advantage
