Government departments across South Africaโ€™s nine provinces are inviting applications for multiple Cleaner positions. These roles are vital to ensuring that offices, schools, health facilities, and community centres remain clean, hygienic, and safe for employees and the public. This opportunity is ideal for individuals who are dedicated, reliable, and willing to contribute to service delivery in their communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, polishing, and vacuuming.
  • Clean and sanitize offices, restrooms, classrooms, and meeting venues.
  • Collect refuse, empty bins, and dispose of waste appropriately.
  • Maintain common areas such as lobbies, passages, and staircases.
  • Wash mirrors, windows, and other glass surfaces.
  • Adhere to health, safety, and hygiene standards.
  • Safeguard and manage cleaning materials responsibly.

Entry Requirements

  • Minimum qualification: Grade 9/ABET Level 2 (Grade 10 preferred).
  • No prior experience required; cleaning experience will be an advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of cleaning detergents, equipment, and Occupational Health & Safety.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Physically fit, reliable, and able to perform manual labour.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary: R138 486 per annum (Level 2, Government Pay Scale).
  • Leave: Annual leave and other benefits as per Government regulations.
