Overview

FNB is seeking a skilled and proactive Handyman to perform general repairs, maintenance and building support across the premises. The role is ideal for a practical, problem-solving individual with a strong understanding of facility upkeep, safety standards and hands-on repair work. The successful candidate will work within an innovative, dynamic environment focused on continuous improvement and quality service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

– Perform general repairs including carpentry, drywall repairs, and minor structural fixes.
– Conduct routine maintenance such as cleaning, painting, floor inspections and equipment upkeep.
– Build, install and repair fixtures including cabinets, counters, closets and fittings.
– Identify and resolve maintenance issues through analytical thinking and problem solving.
– Operate basic maintenance-related computer applications and MS Office.
– Adhere to safety protocols and ensure proper storage and handling of tools and materials.
– Communicate effectively with management and stakeholders regarding maintenance needs.
– Support an environment of curiosity, improvement and operational excellence.

Minimum Requirements

– Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent.
– A Handyman course or technical training is advantageous.
– Experience in general maintenance, repairs, carpentry or facilities support is beneficial.
– Ability to use maintenance tools, equipment and software.
– Strong communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.
– Understanding of safety regulations and compliance practices.
