Overview
Francistown Knitters is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Knitting Machine Operator to join their production team. This is a hands-on role that requires extensive experience in operating and maintaining knitting machines, as well as knowledge of textile design and production processes. Key Responsibilities
-Calibrate and operate industrial knitting machines efficiently.
-Program patterns and designs into knitting machinery using a variety of yarns.
-Conduct regular servicing and preventive maintenance on machines.
-Troubleshoot and resolve machine breakdowns quickly to minimize downtime.
-Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
-Assist in the development and production of creative textile designs.
-Ensure adherence to quality standards and safety procedures.
-Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
Qualifications and Experience
-Minimum of a Diploma in Textile and Design.
-At least 15 years of hands-on experience as a knitting machine operator.
-In-depth knowledge of textile production processes and machinery.
-Ability to read and interpret technical documents and schematics.
-Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair knitting machines.
-Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
-Good teamwork skills and effective communication.
-Physical stamina and strength to operate heavy machinery.
