Overview

The Central Bank of Lesotho is seeking a qualified and detail-oriented individual for the position of Machine Operator. This role is critical to the Bank’s objective of maintaining the quality of currency in circulation by ensuring the proper handling and verification of banknotes and coins.

Position Purpose

The Machine Operator is responsible for processing both Maloti and Rand banknotes and coins, ensuring only clean and good-quality money is recirculated through accurate sorting, verification, and reconciliation procedures.

Key Responsibilities

-Prepare, process, and sort banknotes using automated machines and manual methods.

-Authenticate suspicious banknotes both manually and via automated devices.

-Generate accurate end-of-day reports documenting processing outcomes.

-Reconcile automated reports with physical cash to ensure system accuracy.

-Enter accounting records into Compass VMS and QCBS to transfer verified reissuable stock to the vault.

Minimum Qualifications

-Diploma in Business Studies; or

-Certified Accounting Technician (CAT)
