Overview

A leading butchery and food distribution company is looking for a Corporate Driver to join their Cape Town operations team.

This role involves the safe transportation of meat products, supplies, and personnel while supporting daily operations within a butchery and cold-storage environment.

The ideal candidate should be reliable, physically fit, safety-conscious, and experienced in driving within retail, food, or FMCG environments.

Minimum Requirements

• Valid South African Driver’s Licence:
  • Code 8 or Code 10
  • PDP will be advantageous
• 2–5 years driving experience
• Experience in food, retail, or FMCG environments preferred
• Clear criminal record
• Clear driving record
• Physically fit and willing to work:
  • Early mornings
  • Weekends
  • Public holidays

Key Responsibilities

Driving & Distribution

-Transport meat products, supplies, packaging, and stock

-Ensure safe and hygienic transportation procedures

-Assist with loading and off-loading of products

-Plan delivery routes efficiently

-Ensure cold-chain and food safety standards are maintained

---

Vehicle Care & Maintenance

-Conduct daily vehicle inspections

-Check refrigeration units where applicable

-Maintain vehicle cleanliness and sanitation

-Complete vehicle logbooks and fuel records

-Report accidents or breakdowns immediately

---

Butchery Support Duties

-Assist with cleaning equipment and workspaces

-Pack and label meat products correctly

-Follow FIFO stock rotation procedures

-Remove waste according to hygiene standards

-Wear PPE at all times

Health & Safety Compliance

• Follow Road Traffic Act, BCEA, and OHS Act requirements
• Follow safe lifting and handling procedures
• Report hazards and contamination risks immediately
• Maintain confidentiality of company information
