Job Summary
The Lesotho Tourism Development Corporation (LTDC) seeks a dynamic and experienced Public Relations Manager to develop and implement comprehensive public relations strategies. This role is pivotal in enhancing LTDCโ€™s image and promoting Lesotho as a premier tourism destination. The ideal candidate will oversee communications, media relations, and stakeholder engagement while ensuring alignment with LTDCโ€™s mission and objectives.

The position may require occasional travel to events, media briefings, or PR-related activities. Flexibility in working hours is necessary to meet deadlines or manage time-sensitive media inquiries.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic PR Planning:

-Develop and implement a strategic public relations plan aligned with LTDCโ€™s goals to promote tourism in Lesotho.

-Identify target audiences and craft tailored messaging to effectively engage them.

Media Relations:

-Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, media outlets, and influencers to secure positive coverage for LTDC.

-Prepare and distribute press releases, media kits, and other communication materials that highlight Lesothoโ€™s tourism opportunities.

Crisis Management:

-Develop and execute crisis communication strategies to protect LTDCโ€™s reputation.

-Act as the official spokesperson during crises, delivering clear and consistent messaging.

Content Creation:

-Oversee the creation of engaging content for platforms such as LTDCโ€™s website, social media, newsletters, and promotional materials.

-Ensure all content aligns with LTDCโ€™s branding and messaging guidelines.

Event Management:

-Plan and coordinate promotional events, media briefings, and community outreach initiatives to raise awareness about Lesothoโ€™s tourism sector.

-Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure successful event execution.

Stakeholder Engagement:

-Foster relationships with government agencies, tourism operators, and community organizations to promote collaborative public relations efforts.

-Engage with local communities to highlight their contributions to the tourism industry.

Monitoring and Reporting:

-Monitor media coverage and public sentiment regarding LTDC and the tourism sector.

-Prepare regular reports on PR activities, campaign impact, and public perception to guide continuous improvement.

Qualifications and Experience

Education: Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field. A postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage.

Experience: A minimum of five (5) years in public relations or communications, preferably in tourism or hospitality.
