Overview:
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is looking for a diligent and detail-oriented Receiving Clerk to join their team at the Majik Forest store in Bellville. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurate and timely receiving, checking, and processing of stock, ensuring operational excellence and high-quality customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
-Accurately verify, scan, and capture all goods received in line with company SOPs
-Receive warehouse deliveries and process invoices accordingly
-Log and return damaged or unordered stock with correct documentation
-Ensure quantity, condition, and variant of received goods match invoices
-Support the Receiving Manager with logging warehouse claims
-Process returns to suppliers in line with procedures
-Maintain an orderly and secure receiving area and storerooms
-Assist in stock management, especially high-risk items
-Ensure same-day processing of deliveries to the shop floor
-Adhere to safety and hygiene regulations in all receiving functions
Minimum Requirements:
-Grade 12 / Matric
-Basic computer literacy
-Good numerical and analytical skills
-Willing and able to work retail hours
Advantageous:
- Prior experience in receiving, retail, or FMCG environment
- Bilingual communication skills
- Familiarity with stock rotation systems
Competencies:
- Knowledge of stock receiving processes and admin
- Fluent in English with strong communication skills
- Able to lift and move heavy items (20kg+)
- Time management and teamwork
- Problem-solving and high attention to detail
Special Conditions of Employment:
- Must be able to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays
- Physically fit for heavy lifting and standing
- Must have reliable transport or live near the Bellville store
- South African citizen with clear credit and criminal records
