Job Summary

The General Worker will assist artisans and perform basic maintenance duties at the regional office and remote weather observation sites.

Key Performance Areas

• Assist with installation and inspection of remote observation sites.
• Repair structures housing meteorological equipment (masts, stands, stays).
• Perform terrain maintenance (weeding, mowing, litter removal).
• Clean indoor facilities, including restrooms.
• Conduct basic building maintenance tasks.
• Monitor and report on asset usage (Asset Verification).
• Support fleet management and stock control for maintenance activities.
• Ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety requirements.
• Attend training and participate in mentoring initiatives.
• Support exhibitions, presentations, school visits, and corporate events.

Minimum Requirements

• Matric / Grade 12 / NQF Level 2.
• Valid Driver’s Licence.
• Welding or general handyman training (advantageous).
