Overview
Transnet Freight Rail is recruiting a Trainee Yard Official in Belfast. This trainee position is aimed at developing competent Yard Officials through structured theoretical and practical training.
The successful candidate will undergo modular training and must successfully complete all required modules to qualify and be certified as a Yard Official.
Position Purpose
To participate in and complete a formal training programme that develops the knowledge, skills and competence required to perform Yard Official duties safely and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
-Attend and complete the theoretical training programme within the required timeframe
-Attend and complete the practical training programme within the required timeframe
-Develop competency to perform yard operations and operate assigned equipment
-Safely execute work assignments in line with company standards and strategies
-Maintain a comprehensive portfolio of evidence for all training completed
-Demonstrate accountability for tasks at the end of the training period
Minimum Requirements
-Grade 12
-Must successfully pass a psychological screening battery test
-Must successfully pass a medical examination relevant to the job (including eyesight and hearing tests)
-Must be physically fit
-Must successfully complete and pass both theoretical and practical training
