Overview
The Gauteng Department of Health is recruiting 25 Administration Clerks across Helen Joseph Tertiary Hospital and Steve Biko Academic Hospital. These positions form part of Patient Administration and Administrative Support services within the hospital environment.
Successful candidates will provide frontline administrative support, patient records management, system capturing and general hospital administration functions.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric certificate
- Computer literacy
- Knowledge of Batho Pele principles
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Willingness to work shifts and rotate across sections
Added Advantage:
- SAP system knowledge
- Hospital administration experience
- Knowledge of UPFS and PAIA Act
Key Responsibilities
- Filing and retrieval of patient records
- Patient registration and ward administration
- Performing ward census daily
- Capturing and updating patient information on SAP (HIS) system
- Tracking patient movement history
- Managing downtime registers
- Handling patient enquiries
- Revenue collection for services rendered
- Safekeeping and disposal of files in line with National Archives Act
- Assisting SAPS and stakeholders with required documentation
- Rotating across departments including clinics and Accident & Emergency
