Overview

The Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF), a branch of the Department of Employment and Labour, is seeking a reliable and competent Messenger / Driver to support the delivery of official documents and transportation of personnel and goods. This role requires a responsible individual who can operate within strict transport and safety regulations, while also providing general messenger services.


Key Responsibilities

  • Drive a light- or medium-duty motor vehicle to transport passengers and deliver/collect documents, mail, and other items
  • Complete all trip-related documents and log books
  • Adhere to road safety standards and vehicle inspection protocols
  • Provide messenger support and perform clerical duties as required
  • Ensure the safe handling and timely delivery of official goods and materials

Requirements

  • Educational Qualification: Grade 10 (minimum)
  • Driver’s License: Valid Code 10 driver’s license
  • Experience: No prior experience required

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of National Traffic Regulations
  • Familiarity with Public Service Regulations (PSR), Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), and Batho Pele Principles
  • Pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
  • Ability to interpret road signs and maps
  • Strong communication (verbal and written)
  • Listening and computer literacy
  • Analytical skills and safe driving practices
