Overview

Refinery is seeking a dynamic and experienced Store Manager to lead operations at our Pioneer Mall branch in Maseru, Lesotho. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing store performance, driving sales, overseeing staff, and ensuring an exceptional customer shopping experience aligned with the brand’s values and goals.


Key Responsibilities

-Recruit, train, supervise, and appraise staff performance.

-Oversee the daily operations of the store, ensuring smooth functioning.

-Manage budgets including payroll and profit & loss statements.

-Maintain accurate statistical and financial records (daily, weekly, and monthly reporting).

-Handle customer complaints and queries professionally.

-Drive sales and meet performance targets by motivating and leading the team.

-Oversee visual merchandising and ensure excellent store housekeeping.

-Manage stock levels, inventory, and implement loss prevention strategies.

-Ensure all store equipment is maintained and accounted for.

-Uphold health and safety standards for staff and customers.

-Develop and implement store-specific action plans to minimize stock loss.


Requirements and Skills

  • Minimum Qualification: Lesotho General Certificate of Secondary Education (LGCSE) or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years in a retail management role within a similar environment.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer systems.
    • Strong understanding of stock control and financial reporting.
  • Core Competencies:
    • Strong leadership and team management skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work well under pressure and remain resilient.
    • High attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Good time management and problem-solving abilities.
    • Business acumen and customer service orientation.

    • Confidence in decision-making and executing brand strategies.
    • Passion for fashion, brand loyalty, and awareness of current trends.
    • Social media literacy is advantageous.
