Overview
CJ Mining Holdings is seeking a passionate and proactive Community Liaison Officer (CLO) to join its diamond prospecting project in Ngope-Tsoeu (Roma). This position is integral to building and maintaining strong, transparent, and mutually beneficial relationships between the company and local communities. It is a 5-year contract role supported by a 6-month on-the-job training (OJT) program, and is ideal for candidates looking to make a meaningful impact on community development.
Key Responsibilities
-Act as the primary point of contact between the company and the local communities.
-Develop and implement community engagement strategies and plans.
-Conduct regular consultations and community meetings to gather feedback and resolve concerns.
-Facilitate effective communication and information exchange between stakeholders.
-Identify community needs and support local development programs.
-Resolve grievances and community conflicts respectfully and timely.
-Monitor, evaluate, and report on community engagement initiatives and outcomes.
-Ensure compliance with company policies and local regulations regarding community relations.
-Support the implementation of social investment programs.
-Foster relationships with local authorities, NGOs, and other stakeholders.
-Promote local employment and procurement opportunities.
Requirements and Skills
-Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Community Development, Communications, or a related field.
-Experience in community liaison roles, preferably in mining or extractive industries.
-Strong understanding of community development principles and practices.
-Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
-Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse communities.
-Proven ability to manage relationships at all levels.
-Strong organizational and report-writing skills.
– Experience in conflict resolution and grievance management.
-Understanding of environmental and social impact assessments.
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
-Valid driver’s license.
-Knowledge of local languages and customs is highly desirable.
