Overview

CJ Mining Holdings is seeking motivated and career-focused graduates and qualified Basotho candidates to join its diamond prospecting project in Ngope-Tsoeu (Roma). This is a 5-year employment contract at the mining phase, supported by a 6-month on-the-job training (OJT) program. No prior experience is required. This opportunity is ideal for individuals aiming to build a career in mining and supervision.

Key Responsibilities

1. Supervising and Leading a Team

-Direct and assign tasks to a team of general laborers and skilled tradespeople.

-Provide clear instructions and ensure understanding of assignments.

-Motivate and guide the team to achieve project objectives.

-Monitor performance, provide feedback, and resolve any issues.

2. Work Planning and Coordination

-Understand project plans, specifications, and schedules.

-Plan daily or weekly team activities.

-Coordinate with supervisors, trades, and other foremen to ensure smooth workflow.

-Ensure materials, tools, and equipment are available as needed.

3. Ensuring Safety Compliance

-Enforce safety regulations and procedures on-site.

-Conduct safety briefings and toolbox talks.

-Identify and mitigate potential hazards.

-Ensure the use of proper personal protective equipment (PPE).

-Report and investigate incidents or accidents.

4. Monitoring Progress and Quality

-Track work progress and adherence to the schedule.

-Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met.

-Identify defects or rework needs and report them to relevant managers.

5. Problem Solving

-Resolve daily challenges and issues on the worksite.

-Offer practical solutions to maintain progress.

6. Communication and Reporting

-Maintain effective communication with crew, supervisors, and management.

-Submit regular updates and required documentation including timesheets and reports.

7. Equipment and Material Management

-Oversee the use and maintenance of equipment.

-Ensure proper storage and handling of materials.

-Report damaged or missing equipment.

8. Training and Development

-Provide training to less experienced workers.

-Identify training needs within the team.

Requirements and Qualifications

-COSC or any Commercial Diploma

-Additional short courses will be an advantage

-Strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills

-Ability to work under pressure and in remote field environments

-Commitment to safety and quality standards
