Overview
CJ Mining Holdings is looking for a results-driven Supervisor to oversee general workers and support its diamond prospecting project in Ngope-Tsoeu (Roma). The Supervisor will ensure that daily tasks are completed efficiently and that safety standards are upheld. This is a 5-year contract opportunity supported by a 6-month on-the-job training (OJT) program. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with excellent organizational and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership and Management
-Lead, guide, and motivate a team of general workers.
-Assign tasks based on individual skills and roles.
-Monitor performance and provide constructive feedback and mentorship.
-Resolve conflicts and employee concerns.
-Foster a positive and efficient work environment.
Operational Oversight
-Supervise day-to-day team or departmental operations.
-Ensure tasks are completed effectively and to company standards.
-Enforce company policies and procedures.
-Monitor workflow and make necessary adjustments.
-Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and processes.
Performance Management
-Set and track performance goals aligned with company objectives.
-Conduct evaluations and provide feedback.
-Identify staff training needs.
-Recognize strong performance and address underperformance.
Communication and Coordination
-Maintain communication between team and management.
-Share company strategies and goals with team members.
-Provide performance updates to higher management.
-Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders.
Compliance and Safety
-Ensure adherence to legal and internal safety regulations.
-Promote a safe working environment.
Talent Management
-Participate in recruitment processes.
-Identify and nurture high-performing employees.
-Manage performance issues and disciplinary actions with HR involvement.
Resource Management
-Ensure availability of tools, materials, and resources.
-Monitor and manage departmental budgets, where applicable.
Requirements and Qualifications
-COSC or any Commercial Diploma.
-Additional short courses will be considered an advantage.
-Strong leadership and team management skills.
-Excellent planning, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
-Knowledge of workplace safety standards and procedures.
-Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
-Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
