Overview

World Vision Lesotho is hiring three (3) Immunization Project Assistants (Nurses) to support its health and immunization programs in Mokhotlong, Leribe, and Mafeteng districts. The ideal candidates will play a critical role in implementing district-level activities aimed at improving child health outcomes through enhanced immunization efforts. This is a fixed-term, full-time position under the local contract, offering a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in vulnerable communities.


Key Responsibilities

1. Program Implementation, Monitoring & Evaluation (40%)

-Ensure timely and effective implementation of project activities in assigned districts

-Use project-specific tools and IEC materials for training and outreach

-Monitor progress against activity and budget plans, ensuring effective resource use

-Collect and submit reports weekly, monthly, and quarterly

-Track performance data, document lessons learned, and share success stories

2. Representation and Networking (30%)

-Establish and maintain relationships with community leaders, health facilities, and district-level stakeholders

-Coordinate community engagement efforts and outreach activities

-Organize stakeholder meetings and advocate for improved immunization coverage

3. Teamwork, Administration and Reporting (20%)

-Work collaboratively with project staff, drivers, and field teams

-Prepare and review project reports and plans for compliance

-Provide mentorship and capacity-building support at community level

4. Spiritual Nurturing (10%)

  • Participate in devotions and spiritual life of World Vision Lesotho
  • Demonstrate integrity, humility, and commitment to the organization’s mission and Christian values

Minimum Requirements

-General Nursing and Midwifery qualification

-At least five (5) years of experience in implementing health-related projects

-Experience in primary healthcare settings

-Registered with the Lesotho Nursing Council and hold a valid license

-Postgraduate qualification in Primary Healthcare, Community Health Nursing, or Public Health is an added advantage

-Knowledge of Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) and UNICEF reporting tools

-Demonstrated capacity to coordinate training and community logistics

-Experience in supervising teams and reporting on health outcomes


Skills and Competencies

-Strong interpersonal and community mobilization skills

-Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and data collection tools

-Excellent communication and report writing skills

-Ability to work under pressure and travel up to 50% of the time

-High emotional maturity and cultural sensitivity

-Commitment to child protection and Christian values
