Overview

The Government of Lesotho, through the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Business Development and with support from the World Bank (IDA), is implementing the Lesotho Competitiveness and Financial Inclusion (CAFI) Project. The project is now seeking a qualified and experienced Clothing & Textile Value Chain Consultant to provide expert guidance and support to enhance Lesotho’s position in the textile and garment industry.

This consultancy offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and competitiveness of one of Lesotho’s key industrial sectors.

Scope of Work

The selected consultant will be expected to:

-Analyze and provide strategic input on the Clothing and Textile Sector (CTS) value chain in Lesotho.

-Lead market research and strategy development to boost industry competitiveness.

-Identify critical bottlenecks and opportunities for growth across the CTS value chain.

-Engage with government and private stakeholders to support project implementation.

-Assist with planning, facilitation, and coordination of relevant sectoral interventions.

Selection Criteria

Interested applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • A Master’s Degree in Business, Economics, or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in the Clothing and Textiles Sector (CTS), particularly in value chain development.
  • Proven skills in market research and strategy formulation.
  • Strong project management, facilitation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage critical interventions and solve complex challenges.
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement at local, national, and international levels.
