The Ministry of Child Welfare and Basic Education invites unemployed Botswana graduate teachers to register applications for Temporary Teaching Appointments at Primary and Secondary Schools across the North West Region for the year 2026.
Qualifications
Applicants must possess one of the following:
-Diploma/Degree in Early Childhood Education
-Diploma/Degree in Primary Education
-Diploma/Degree in Secondary Education (All Subjects)
–BED β Special Education (Intellectual Disabilities, Hearing or Visual Impairment)
–Certificate in Early Childhood Education
NB: Any other degree must be accompanied by a teaching qualification (PGDE/PGDHE).
Salary Scale
- Certificate: B3/2 (BWP 65,508 β 91,344) per annum
- Diploma: C4 (BWP 108,444 β 123,420) per annum
- Degree: C3 (BWP 127,092 β 150,852) per annum
Terms of Employment
- Temporary (termly or yearly contracts depending on availability)
- Severance benefits payable at contract end (as per Employment Act)
Leave Entitlement
- 25 days per annum (C4βC3)
- 20 days per annum (B3)
Main Purpose of the Job
-Facilitate teaching and learning based on the prescribed syllabus
-Supervise, guide and counsel learners
-Maintain learner records and participate in extracurricular activities to improve academic outcomes
