Overview
Rubicon is seeking Warehouse Assistants/Drivers to join our team in Linbro Park, Gauteng. The successful candidates will play a key role in ensuring smooth warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, and dispatching goods. The role also includes delivery responsibilities to meet the company’s logistics objectives.


Key Responsibilities

Receiving:

-Identify the source of incoming stock (branch, customer, or supplier) and the type of order (customer return, inter-company transfer, local or international).

-Ensure receipted stock is correctly placed in designated warehouse locations (Lighting, Energy, Utilities, etc.).

-Report discrepancies (damaged, short, or over-supplied stock) to the supervisor and procurement team.

-Record and follow up on stock discrepancies, resolving them within 5 days.

Storage:

-Ensure receipted stock is safely and securely stored to prevent damage.

-Package items to minimize the risk of damage during storage and transportation, following company policies and health and safety standards.

Order Fulfilment:

-Remove damaged stock from shelves and coordinate with stock control to take corrective actions.

-Prepare stock for dispatch, ensuring it meets customer or branch requirements.

-Collaborate with teams to ensure timely deliveries.

Packaging:

-Package items to prevent damage during transport, ensuring they are presentable.

-Label all loose items according to standard operating procedures (SOP).

Dispatch:

-Coordinate deliveries to align with company objectives.

-Ensure transportation quotes are managed to meet delivery timelines within budget.

-Scan proof of deliveries (PODs) from the previous day by close of business.

-Confirm delivery details (address, contact person) before dispatch and correct any errors.

-Liaise with the dispatch controller to ensure the proper equipment is available for deliveries.

Documentation:

-Accurately process stock instructions and note any discrepancies.

-Ensure all documentation has two signatures—one for the person handing over stock and one for the person receiving it.

-Store documentation in line with company SOP.

Health & Safety:

-Enforce health and safety policies in warehouse and transport activities.

-Conduct safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards.

-Arrange training for warehouse staff, including forklift licenses, driver’s licenses, and first aid certifications.

-Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness.

-Operate company vehicles in compliance with traffic regulations.


Minimum Requirements

  • Matric/NQF 4 qualification.
  • At least 2 years of warehouse experience.
  • At least 2 years of delivery experience.
  • Fleet and contract management experience (2+ years).
  • Valid Code EC driver’s license.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Windows and MS Office.
