Overview:
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is looking for a reliable and experienced Cleaner for their Hemmingways store in East London. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean and hygienic environment across the store, including the shop floor, stock room, dispensary, admin office, and canteen, in line with Dis-Chem’s hygiene and safety standards.
Responsibilities:
-Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene throughout all store areas before opening
-Regularly clean the canteen, restrooms, and communal spaces, ensuring they are well-stocked
-Remain available during operational hours to attend to spills or mess as needed
-Use appropriate cleaning products and equipment for different tasks
-Display wet floor signage appropriately to avoid hazards
-Follow all Health and Safety Regulations during cleaning activities
-Interact with customers in a friendly and helpful manner when required
Minimum Requirements:
-Grade 12 / Matric
-At least 6 monthsβ cleaning experience
-Basic customer service skills
-Good command of English (spoken and written)
-Willingness to work retail hours
Advantageous:

- Trustworthy, presentable, and detail-oriented
- Good time management skills
- Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks independently
- Physically fit for walking, bending, lifting, kneeling, and standing for long periods
