Overview
Midvaal Local Municipality is seeking a hardworking and reliable General Worker to join the Auxiliary Services in the Office of the Municipal Manager. The successful candidate will ensure cleanliness and maintenance of the office environment while assisting with various general tasks to support the department.
Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain offices, bathrooms, stockrooms, and the kitchen to ensure a hygienic working environment.
- Serve tea and coffee to visitors.
- Prepare meeting venues by setting up water decanters, glasses, and refreshments.
- Assist with general office administration tasks when required.
- Perform any other related ad hoc duties as requested by management.
Requirements
- Education: Grade 10 (Grade 12 will be an added advantage).
- License: A valid driver’s license is advantageous.
- Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; bilingualism is essential.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
- Good physical health and basic skills in manual labor.
- Experience: At least 1 year of relevant experience as a cleaner or general worker, preferably within Midvaal Local Municipality or a local government authority.
- Residency: Must reside within the jurisdiction of the Midvaal Local Municipality.
