The South African Reserve Bank (SARB) is recruiting across multiple specialist, managerial, graduate and security roles. These opportunities are based mainly at Head Office in Pretoria, Johannesburg Cash Centre, Durban Cash Centre and within CODI divisions.


Senior Business Analyst

Overview: Lead end-to-end business analysis services to identify business needs, develop solutions and optimise organisational processes.
Key Focus Areas: Business case development, stakeholder engagement, team leadership, quality assurance, process optimisation, business architecture support.
Requirements: Honours degree (Economics, Finance, IT or equivalent), Business Analysis certification, 8 yearsโ€™ experience. Banking systems and methodology knowledge advantageous.


Financial Stability Oversight Committee Secretariat Official

Location: Pretoria Head Office
Overview: Serve as Secretariat Official for the FSOC and coordinate contributions to the Financial Stability Review.
Key Focus Areas: Committee coordination, stakeholder engagement, research consolidation, report quality assurance, policy tracking.
Requirements: Bachelorโ€™s degree (NQF 7), 5โ€“7 yearsโ€™ experience in banking or central banking.


Group Security System Design and Research Consultant โ€“ GSMD

Overview: Research and design physical electronic security systems across the SARB Group.
Key Focus Areas: Security system design, research and development, stakeholder liaison, lifecycle management, emerging technology analysis.
Requirements: Bachelorโ€™s degree (IT/Security Systems/Electronics), 5โ€“8 yearsโ€™ experience in security systems research and design.


Manager: Treasury Accounting โ€“ FMD

Overview: Manage treasury accounting operations in compliance with IFRS and regulatory requirements.
Key Focus Areas: Treasury accounting oversight, risk management, internal controls, FX operations, team leadership.
Requirements: Postgraduate qualification in Accounting/Finance, 8โ€“10 yearsโ€™ experience (5 years managerial). CA(SA) advantageous.


Business Analyst (FinSurv)

Overview: Provide business analysis services supporting financial surveillance systems.
Key Focus Areas: Systems enhancement, stakeholder management, master data integrity, reporting, quality assurance.
Requirements: Postgraduate qualification (NQF 8), 5โ€“8 yearsโ€™ financial business analysis experience.


Retirement Fund Committee Secretary โ€“ FSD

Overview: Provide technical secretariat support to the SARB Retirement Fund Board and subcommittees.
Key Focus Areas: Meeting coordination, governance compliance, documentation control, legislative application.
Requirements: National Diploma/Advanced Certificate (NQF 6), 3โ€“5 yearsโ€™ secretariat experience.


Client Liaison Officer x3 โ€“ FSD

Overview: Manage customer engagements and banking service support.
Key Focus Areas: Client onboarding, service delivery, financial reconciliation, stakeholder communication.
Requirements: NQF 6 qualification in Accounting/Business Administration, 2โ€“4 yearsโ€™ banking experience.


ERD Winter School โ€“ ERD

Dates: 29 June โ€“ 4 July 2026
Overview: Week-long postgraduate programme focused on central banking research and financial stability.
Fields: Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, Actuarial Science.
Requirements: Postgraduate students with strong academic record (70%+ average), unemployed.


Data Privacy Business Partner โ€“ BSTD

Overview: Implement privacy standards and ensure POPIA compliance within assigned clusters.
Key Focus Areas: Privacy audits, impact assessments, breach investigations, regulatory compliance.
Requirements: Bachelorโ€™s degree (Compliance/Law), 5โ€“8 yearsโ€™ privacy experience, 5 years banking regulatory exposure.

Overview: One-year postgraduate development programme in central banking.
Fields: Economics, Finance, Law, IT, Risk, Mathematics, Accounting, Fintech and related.
Requirements: Honours degree (NQF 8), 65%+ average, South African citizen.


Data Science Graduate Development Programme (2027 Intake)

Overview: One-year programme focused on advanced analytics in central banking.
Fields: Data Science, AI, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Fintech.
Requirements: Postgraduate qualification, 70%+ average, R/Python coding skills.


Security Official x3 โ€“ Johannesburg Cash Centre

Security Official x2 โ€“ Durban Cash Centre

Overview: Safeguard personnel, facilities and assets.
Key Focus Areas: Access control, patrolling, emergency response, firearm handling.
Requirements: Grade 12, PSIRA Grade C, firearm competency, 2โ€“5 yearsโ€™ security experience.


Manager: Operations โ€“ CODI

Overview: Lead Business and Operations Division within the Corporation of Deposit Insurance.
