Overview
The City of Tshwane is inviting applications for five (5) General Worker positions within Region 2. The successful candidates will be responsible for conducting general maintenance work on developed and undeveloped open spaces, natural resources and related facilities in order to improve and maintain environmental quality.
Salary and Benefits
- Scale: R165 564,00 โ R193 476,00 per annum
- Estimated Remuneration Package: R242 666,00 โ R278 193,00 per annum
Appointment Requirements
- Basic literacy
- Ability to perform duties
- Relevant knowledge and experience in horticultural maintenance will be an added advantage
- Physical fitness and good health with no back problems
- Must undergo a criminal record check and allow fingerprints to be taken by the Tshwane Metro Police Department at own cost
- Willingness and ability to work shifts, standby and overtime when required

Primary Functions
- Conduct general horticultural maintenance in public open spaces and horticultural facilities and depots
- Clean parks and traffic islands
- Clean open spaces in remote areas
- Cut and remove invasive and alien plant material
- Remove weeds
- Pick up litter
