Overview
Brights Hardware is seeking a reliable and hardworking General Assistant to join the Plumbing & Irrigation Department. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring smooth yard operations, assisting customers, and maintaining high standards of service, accuracy, and cleanliness.
Key Responsibilities
– Load customer vehicles, delivery trucks, and transfer trucks accurately and efficiently
– Ensure stock is correctly counted, stacked, and handled
– Assist with picking and preparing stock for transfers
– Report stock shortages, damages, or breakages
– Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping in the work area
– Provide friendly and helpful customer service at all times
– Assist with bagging materials such as sand and stone
– Participate in stocktaking and inventory control activities
– Perform general duties as assigned by supervisors
Requirements & Skills
- Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year experience in a Plumbing & Irrigation environment (advantageous)
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to count and manage stock accurately
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Physically fit and able to handle manual work
- Able to work under pressure and remain disciplined
