Job Overview

Abantu Staffing Solutions is seeking an experienced Code 14 Driver with a valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP) to join our client’s team in the FMCG sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of products between the production plant, warehouses, and other designated locations. This is a full-time, permanent position.

Key Responsibilities

-Transport products between the production plant, company warehouses, and other required locations.

-Accurately log vehicle details (date, time, kilometer readings, and destination) in the daily logbook.

-Ensure accurate recording of stock movement in shunting books.

-Safely load and offload products using a forklift and ensure timely transportation between facilities.

-Adhere to health and safety requirements, company policies, and relevant vehicle operation procedures.

-Comply with driving rules, including vehicle size, weight, and speed limits, as per the Road Traffic Act.

-Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment (trucks, forklifts) and report any defects.

-Verify delivery schedules and ensure products are delivered to the correct warehouse locations as per instructions.

-Secure products during transport and ensure no damaged items are being moved.

-Collect Chep pallets in good condition from customers.

-Maintain accurate daily records to ensure consistent operation and task completion.

-Immediately report accidents, damages, or violations and advise the supervisor on any maintenance or servicing needs.

Requirements

• Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
• Valid Code 14 driver’s license with PDP and no driving violations.
• Proven experience as a truck driver.
• Strong understanding of relevant driving rules and regulations.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and factory health and safety procedures.
• Forklift driving experience is an advantage.
