Overview

South African Breweries (SAB), part of the AB InBev global group, is inviting applications for 25 Apprentice Millwright positions at its Ibhayi Brewery. This structured apprenticeship programme offers a combination of theoretical learning and hands-on workplace training, equipping participants with the technical and practical skills required to qualify as Millwright artisans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete the Millwright apprenticeship programme in line with SAB and SETA standards.
  • Participate in formal learning and on-the-job training to acquire technical competence.
  • Assist in the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of industrial machinery and systems.
  • Gain exposure to both mechanical and electrical aspects, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and automation.
  • Adhere to occupational health, safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Participate in planning, preparation, and execution of maintenance tasks.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects to optimise equipment performance.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric) with Mathematics and Physical Science.
  • National Technical Certificate (N4) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (Millwright focus).
  • Higher qualification (N5/N6) in Engineering will be advantageous.
  • Physically fit with good vision (not colour blind).
  • Willingness to attend training sessions, including periods in Johannesburg.
