Overview
Starke Ayres is seeking an experienced and customer-focused Cashier to join their Cape Town branch on a fixed-term basis. This role is ideal for individuals with strong cash handling skills who can deliver efficient and courteous service at the till point.
Key Responsibilities
– Process all customer transactions accurately using the cash register
– Provide friendly and professional customer service at all times
– Handle various payment methods including cash, cards, and vouchers
– Maintain responsibility for float and daily takings
– Report any discrepancies to the Senior Cashier or management
– Ensure all purchases are captured correctly on the system
– Keep the cashier area clean, organised, and presentable
– Assist with additional tasks as required by management
– Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to company policies
Requirements & Skills
- Grade 12 (National Senior Certificate)
- Minimum 1 year experience as a Cashier
- Strong numerical and cash handling skills
- Good communication and customer service abilities
- Ability to work weekends and public holidays
- Must reside near Rosebank (Cape Town) or have reliable transport
- Honest, reliable, and detail-oriented
