Overview
Rand Water is inviting applications for a District Aide position based in Johannesburg South, Gauteng.
The successful candidate will provide general operational and maintenance support within Bulk Water Services. The role includes pipeline patrols, pipeline maintenance, meter reading, grounds maintenance and general upkeep of buildings and surrounding areas.
Applicants must have Grade 12 or N3, a valid driver’s licence and at least one year of experience in a similar working environment.
This position may suit candidates with previous experience in water services, pipeline operations, general maintenance, municipal services or a similar technical environment.
Key Responsibilities
The District Aide will be responsible for:
– Conducting routine pipeline patrols.
– Assisting with general pipeline maintenance.
– Supporting valve and meter repair and maintenance activities.
– Performing meter-reading duties.
– Identifying and reporting problems discovered during pipeline patrols.
– Assisting with general maintenance activities within the assigned area.
– Cleaning buildings and work areas.
– Cleaning and maintaining yards.
– Performing grounds-maintenance duties.
– Keeping the grounds and surrounding areas in good condition.
– Supporting operational teams with general duties as required.
– Participating in standby duties when required.
– Following applicable safety and safe-working procedures.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Grade 12 or N3.
- A valid driver’s licence.
- At least one year of experience in a similar environment.
