Overview

Central Johannesburg TVET College is inviting applications for four (4) Driver posts across various campuses. The successful candidates will be responsible for transporting passengers, mail, and official documents, as well as providing messenger and clerical support services.

Applicants must be responsible, safety-conscious, and capable of maintaining accurate vehicle records in line with institutional policies and procedures.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 10 / Standard 8
• Valid Code 08 Driver’s Licence
• 7–12 months relevant driving experience

Knowledge Requirements

• Relevant legislation, policies and procedures
• Motor vehicle maintenance procedures
• Vehicle storage requirements
• Messenger and registry services
• Secondary office functions (photocopying, faxing)
• Procedures for operating vehicles
• Trip authorisation processes
• Logbook completion procedures
• Fuel recording and kilometre tracking procedures

• Safe and responsible driving
• Reading and writing skills
• Ability to change flat tyres
• Basic vehicle maintenance
• Cleaning and upkeep of vehicles

Key Duties

• Drive light and medium motor vehicles to transport passengers
• Deliver mail, documents and other official items
• Perform routine vehicle maintenance and report defects
• Maintain accurate logbooks and trip records
• Record fuel usage and vehicle kilometres
• Provide clerical support within the office
• Assist with registry functions
• Perform messenger duties
• Assist with photocopying and faxing
• Collect and deliver documents within the college
