Job Opportunity
South African Nursing Council (SANC) is inviting applications for a General Worker: Gardening and Landscaping position.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining gardens, lawns, plants, irrigation systems, and overall landscaping at SANC facilities.
Minimum Requirements
โข Grade 12
โข Minimum of 2 yearsโ working experience in Gardening and Landscaping
Added Advantage
– Certificate in Gardening, Landscaping, Horticulture, or related field
– More than 2 yearsโ gardening and landscaping experience
– Computer literacy
– Valid driverโs licence
Main Duties
– Monitor the health of plants and green spaces
– Water and feed plants
– Trim trees and shrubs
– Fertilise and mow lawns
– Weed gardens and keep walkways clear of debris and litter
– Perform seasonal landscape work including pruning, clean-up, leaf removal, and planting
– Prepare grading terrain and apply fertilisers
– Seed and sod lawns
– Transplant shrubs and plants using manual and power-operated equipment
– Maintain landscaping equipment including mowers and trimmers
– Maintain and repair irrigation systems (manual and automatic)
– Hand water and monitor irrigation of plants
– Clean grounds by removing litter using rakes, brooms, and hoses
– Identify and treat weeds, pests, and plant diseases
– Provide driving and messenger services where necessary
– Perform ad hoc duties assigned by the Line Manager or Supervisor
